HOOVER, Ala. — The Hoover school system has named an interim head football coach at Spain Park High School.

Ben Berguson was the offensive line coach and assistant head coach.

Berguson takes over at SPHS, after head coach David Shores was placed on administrative leave following claims he was involved in a "physical altercation" at practice this week, according to school spokesperson Jason Gaston.

Berguson is entering his 5th year at SPHS, and is a graduate of Louisiana Tech.
