Jacksonville State is ranked in the Top 25 in both major football polls, which were released on Monday. The Gamecocks are ranked No. 22 in the FCS Coaches Poll, and ranked No. 24 in The Sports Network Poll.
Jacksonville State (0-2) remained ranked in both polls after leading Football Bowl Series (FBS) powerhouse Florida State until the Seminoles rallied to score with just 35 seconds left on Saturday to avoid the upset.
Defending FCS champion Richmond remained first in both polls, while Villanova moved up to No. 2 in both polls.
Ohio Valley Conference member Eastern Kentucky is ranked No. 23 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 22 in The Sports Network Poll, while Eastern Illinois, UT Martin, Murray State, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech each received votes in one of the polls.
