AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn coach Gene Chizik will make at least
$1.9 million this year in a contract heavy on incentives.
Auburn released details of the five-year contract on Monday. The
list of incentives include $500,000 for a national title and
$200,000 for winning the Southeastern Conference.
If the Tigers make a bowl game this season, Chizik gets $50,000,
plus double that each for being named national coach of the year or
SEC coach of the year and for making the league title game.
He has escalating bonuses from $75,000-$200,000 for winning from
10 games up to 14.
The university also released contracts for the assistant
coaches. The top paid is defensive coordinator Ted Roof at
$370,000.
