Alabama is getting well-acquainted with Atlanta's Georgia Dome these days.
The Crimson Tide had its season-opener there last year, played there in the SEC Championship Game last December and will open the 2009 season there in about five weeks.
Nick Saban and Co. just hope the Tide's trend of trekking to Atlanta continues in the years to come.
It was announced Monday that the SEC and the Georgia Dome have agreed on a five-year extension for the SEC Football Championship Game that will have the game played in Atlanta through 2015.
"The SEC Football Championship Game has become one of the season's premiere events," SEC commissioner Mike Slive said in a released statement. "The Georgia Dome and the Georgia World Congress Center is a fitting host for our event. Their operations staff and leadership have been tremendous to work with and we look forward to continuing the relationship."
