Star Players Named In Mitchell Report

»  Comments | Post a Comment

NEW YORK (AP) - Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and Miguel Tejada are among those named in the long-awaited Mitchell Report on drug use in baseball.

There's an All-Star roster linked to steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs that put a question mark next to some of baseball's biggest moments.

Home run king Barry Bonds, already under indictment on charges of lying to a federal grand jury about steroids, also shows up in baseball's most infamous lineup since the Black Sox scandal.

The report culminates a 20-month investigation by former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell. He was hired by commissioner Bud Selig to examine the Steroids Era.

It's uncertain whether the report will result in any penalties or suspensions.

Selig plans to hold a news conference later this afternoon to address the report.
