Summer is here and a multitude of babies are on the way. Moms everywhere are thinking about birth announcements. Whether it’s your first child or your grandchild, it’s always nice to send a little note introducing your new arrival to all of your friends and family.

Trends in Birth Announcements:
1. Using more than one photo
a. With the advent of digital printing, multiple photos have become popular.
b. Many parents like to use a photo of the baby, then maybe a picture of their hands or feet, or a photo with the sibling, Mom or Dad, or maybe a shot of the whole family.

2. Printing and adding photos on the front and back of the announcement
a. Whether the card is folded or flat there is plenty of space for multiple photos or messages.
b. You can use additional photos on the back, or maybe a Bible verse, or a favorite quote or message.

3. Monograms—they’re everywhere these days!
a. Including a monogram of the baby's name in the announcement is popular for both boys and girls right now.
b. There are a variety of styles and fonts parents can choose from.

4. Save time by planning ahead—set up your announcements before the baby arrives and/or pre-print or address your envelopes.
a. Little Lamb Design offers our clients the option of designing their birth announcements before they welcome their newest family member.
b. Professionally addressing envelopes or addressing the envelopes ahead of the baby's arrival makes the new parent's first weeks easier.
c. At some companies (including Little Lamb Design) you can select a style of announcement and purchase the envelopes ahead of time so you will have time to address them.
d. You also can send over your Excel file and have the envelopes professionally printed from your mailing list.
e. Either way, after the baby arrives you will only have to stuff and mail the announcements.
