The Alys Stephens Center presents a new, free ASC Social Club series, "After Work & Outdoors," featuring a party each Thursday April 30-May 21, 5:30-7:30 p.m., in the Alys Stephens Center's Haskell Courtyard, 1200 10th Ave. S. Experience a different sound every week with live entertainment by Birmingham's best up-and-coming performing artists and musicians.

May 7 - Latin dance party and dance lessons with Carlos & Latin Soul Productions, featuring margarita drink specials.

May 14 - local favorites the Martini Shakers, with martini drink specials.
FIFTH FS:
May 21 - original "newgrass" music from The Jason Bailey Band
The parties feature food for sale from local restaurants, drink specials and ticket drawings for the Alys Stephens Center's upcoming new season. Junior Patron members of the ASC Social Club can enjoy the VIP lounge complete with complimentary beer and wine and delicious food. The parties will be moved inside the Alys Stephens Center in the event of rain. This series will engage in sustainable practices from the products used to the foods that are served. Carpooling is encouraged.

April 18 ASC Kids’ Club presents Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre’s “Czech & Slovak Tales” with storyteller and puppeteer Vít Horejš, 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., presented by the Alys Stephens Center, 1200 10th Ave. S., Birmingham. Using a troupe of antique marionette puppets, director Vít Horejš will tell Czech fairy tales replete with kings, clever village maidens, witches and spirits. Tickets are $7. May 2 ASC Kids’ Club presents “Alice’s Even Bigger Tea Party,” an ASC original production, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., presented by the Alys Stephens Center, 1200 10th Ave. S., Birmingham. Join the ASC for an even better, bigger, grander “Alice’s Tea Party.” Presented on stage in the ASC Sirote Theatre, the original tea party guests from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” will be joined by more of Lewis Carroll’s laughable and lovable characters.
