I'm sure like many work places nowadays, it's pretty common for us all to sit around before our afternoon meeting (we being the NBC 13 night shift) and rehash, discuss and debate the latest daily developments in the financial world.
Suddenly, terms and phrases that we've never heard of are dominating the headlines, and more importantly, appearing to impact our savings and financial well-being.
I, for one, have never watched so much CNBC.
Unless you were a finance major, chances are, like us, you may not totally understand all the verbage being tossed around right now.
Our ten o'clock producer Donnette Hulsey mentioned Monday that it would be so nice to post a stock market dictionary. I couldn't agree more!
I have actually had to look up several things over the past few months for various stories, including for all of my Jefferson County sewer debt stories. The paperwork the SEC has filed on Langford took me hours to get through! Interest rate swaps probably alone took more effort then some of my college exams. No LSU jokes please.
