Pressure Treated Wood

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Pressure treated wood is great to use for any outdoor project. It's great for fences, decks, and any other wooden frame. When building a deck- you need to remember that the wood will shrink with time. This means the floor boards should go right up next to each other-leave no gaps. As the wood dries, a small gap will develop. Also, remember this when building fences. Pressure treated wood will last longer but the as the chemicals dry in the wood-it will draw up. I recently had my back porch screened-in. Now I find the screened panels are not as tight fitting as they where when they were first installed. It would be a good idea to let the wood dry before installation-however, it must dry in a horizontal position above the ground-to prevent warping.
