Gustav Help Needed

Agencies throughout the area are gearing up to help thousands of evacuees from Hurricane Gustav, but they need your help.

I just received the following emails from Joanne Miles of the United Way of West Alabama. If you can spare some supplies or time, both the Red Cross and the Salvation Army could really use it. Numbers to call are below.

GUSTAV HELP NEEDED

The Red Cross has an immediate need of towels for use at Shelter.

Volunteers are also needed. Please call Nancy at 758- 3393 if Nancy cannot be reached all Red Cross, Roberta 758-3608

SALVATION ARMY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS ON MON,SEPT 1
6 – 10 Volunteers needed to help prepare, transport. and serve dinner tomorrow evening.
They will need to be at The Salvation Army between 1-2 p.m. to help prepare dinner and transport the meals to the Belk Center .
