It's that time of year where I carefully watch my mailbox. It's better than Christmas, more exciting than my birthday.
I know it's coming. My e-mail says the package actually went out last week.
If you're a big football fan, you might be waiting on a similar package: your season tickets for the upcoming football season.
Of course, my package is originating out of Baton Rouge, not Tuscaloosa or Auburn.
Some folks around here might think I pull for the wrong Tigers - a dire sin to some, I know.
But at least they can understand that strange college football passion that means I'll take several Saturdays off work to drive 6 hours to Tiger Stadium, spend all morning and afternoon walking miles of tailgates to visit with old friends, gain at least 5 pounds eating as much jambalaya and etouffe as I can find, scream myself hoarse in Death Valley, then drive 6 hours back to work on Sunday.
There is nothing like college football, especially when it's the SEC, especially when we're defending national champions! And yes, I am very excited to welcome Nick Saban back to Death Valley in November! Geaux Tigers! The Bengal ones!
