HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a small airplane has
crashed on a street in a residential neighborhood south of Las
Vegas, killing one person and critically injuring three others.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sgt. John Sheahan says two males
and two females were aboard the single-engine Piper Cherokee when
it crashed on Clover Field Court early Monday. No one on the ground
was injured.
Sheahan says the injured were taken to a hospital with
life-threatening burns and trauma.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the
plane took off from the Henderson airport shortly after 8 this
morning and was unable to gain altitude. The pilot tried to return
to Henderson but crashed.
Henderson is located just south of Las Vegas.
