There are some Birmingham City Schools without any fine arts. This million dollars is a grant designed to get the arts back in these schools and have a long-term affect on students, staff and the artists involved.
The district's partner is the Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham.
Community artists will work with teachers to bring music, art, theatre and more to nine schools in Birmingham.
