About 70 members of the Alabama Army National Guard are set to return to Birmingham Friday afternoon.
A short ceremony honoring members of Company B, 1st battalion 169th Aviation unit is set for Friday at 3:30 at the Army Aviation Support Facility.
The troops had served in Afghanistan. They were equipped with CH-47 Chinook helicopters to move combat troops, cargo, weapons, and other supplies and logistical teams.
