MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Supreme Court has put on
hold a court order that required the state attorney general to say
by Monday whether he planned to take over the governor's gambling
investigation.
The Supreme Court issued a unanimous order late Friday staying
the deadline that Circuit Judge Robert Vance had given Attorney
General Troy King. The governor's task force had appealed Vance's
ruling to the state Supreme Court.
Task force commander John Tyson said Saturday that the task
force is back in business.
