JEFFERSON COUNTY, Al - A family of six was lucky to be away from home early Friday morning as a fire destroyed thier home at 126 Elrie Boulevard in Eastern Valley. Firefighters from the Eastern Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire call at 3:43am and arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames. The house had been in the family for over thirty years and the homeowner tells NBC13HD he is still wondering what to do next. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
