TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - A judge in Macon County is considering whether to extend an order that allowed Alabama's largest casino to reopen March 5.

Circuit Judge Tom Young has a hearing scheduled at 9 a.m. Friday in Tuskegee.

Young issued a temporary restraining order March 5 at the request of Macon County officials. He ruled that the commander of the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling had no authority in Macon County, where Victoryland is located. Victoryland opened a few minutes after the order. The state's largest casino had been closed for a month to prevent a raid by the task force. Young is considering changing his order to a preliminary injunction.

Task force commander John Tyson says the judge's order was a "gross abuse of judicial authority."
