FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - Officials in Florence are investigating a rash of crow deaths.
City spokesman Phil Stevens said employees of the city's street department collected 15 dead crows Thursday. The birds were taken to the city's landfill for disposal.
Stevens said Vinny Grosso, the city's animal control director, alerted the Alabama Department of Public Health. Dr. Karen Landers, regional health officer for the agency, said her office has asked city officials to report any additional bird deaths.
There have been no reports of humans being sickened in the area where the dead crows were found.
