BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the body pulled from the Highland Golf Club pond as missing Mountain Brook attorney Major Bashinsky.
Golfers noticed Bashinsky's body floating in the pond Monday afternoon and called police.
Deputy Coroner Pat Curry said it could take more time to determine the cause of death.
A diver was back out at the golf course pond Tuesday morning searching for evidence.
Bashinsky is the son of Golden Flake founder Sloan Bashinsky.
Bashinsky was last seen in his office in the Luckie Building off Highway 280 at Lakeshore Parkway on March 3rd.
His wife Leslie told NBC13HD that when she went to check on her husband that night, his office was unlocked and the lights, television and computer were still on.
His Toyota Camry was discovered four days later in the 2100 Block of Highland Avenue in Birmingham with an angry note allegedly taped to the back seat.
The note expressed disappointment in the payment of dividends to the Bashinsky's and other Golden Flake owners and said such payments, "force us to act with urgency to render justice for your terrible business decisions that favor our company's owners over our loyal workers."
Bashinsky is survived by four children
