GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - A judge in Gadsden has sentenced a
25-year-old man to death for the murder of his girlfriend's
2-year-old daughter.
Circuit Judge David Kimberley imposed the sentence Friday on
Timothy Scott Boyle. A jury convicted Boyle of capital murder in
November and recommended a death sentence.
Testimony in the trial showed that Savannah White died from
blows to her head in October 2005. The victim's older sister
testified that she saw Boyle slap around the child and throw her
against a bathtub in the family's home in Rainbow City one night
shortly before she died.
