MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A bill aimed making sure that Alabama residents who buy tickets to a musical concert actually get to see and hear at least one original member of the group has moved to within one step of final passage in the Legislature.
The bill is known as the Truth in Music Advertising Act. It was pproved Wednesday by the House Judiciary Committee. It has already passed the Senate and would go to Gov. Bob Riley for his signature if approved by the House.
The bill is aimed at musical groups that use the name of a once popular group, even though it does not include any original
members.
The sponsor is Democratic Sen. Bobby Denton of Muscle Shoals. Denton had several songs hit the pop music charts.
