MONTGOMERY, ALA.: 2 Large Alabama Casinos Staying Closed For Now

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Two large electronic bingo casinos that have been closed for more than a month are planning to stay that way even though a judge says Alabama's attorney general has legal authority over the governor's gambling task force.
Country Crossing spokesman Doug Rainier in Dothan and White Hall Entertainment Center attorney Bobby Segall say there are no immediate plans to reopen. They say the operators are waiting to see what the Legislature does with electronic bingo.
The state's largest casino, VictoryLand in Shorter, reopened Friday after giving up its liquor license and getting a temporary restraining order against the task force.
