MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A summary of action in the Alabama Legislature on Tuesday, the 16th meeting day of the regular
session:
HOUSE
-Voted to override the governor's veto of a bill that gives counties served by the Tennessee Valley Authority a bigger slice of
revenue paid to the state by the utility.
SENATE
-Voted 19-16 to put electronic bingo bills on its work agenda for this week.
-Voted to override the governor's veto of a resolution that had blocked implementation of a furlough plan for state workers. Goes
to House.
AGENDA
-Senate meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday and House at 3 p.m.
-Senate Economic Expansion and Trade Committee meets at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in room 727 of the Statehouse to consider ethics
legislation.
-House Judiciary Committee meets at 9 a.m. in room 123 at the Alabama Statehouse that would eliminate the statute of limitations
from civil lawsuits seeking damages in murder cases.
-House Tourism and Travel Committee meets at 1:30 p.m. in room 123 to consider a bill legalizing the making of beer and wine at
home for personal use.
-House Constitution and Elections Committee meets at 9 a.m. in room 603 to consider a bill to elect circuit and district judges in
non-partisan elections.
