The body of a man was found underwater, shortly after a diving off a 150 foot cliff.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports the incident happened Sunday evening in the Bagley area.
Deputies learned that a 22 year old man decided to jump from a higher cliff than his friends.
While his friends were trying to convince him not too, the victim apparently lost his footing while jumping.
Witnesses say the victim fell and hit a tree on the way down, broke a tree limb, then hit a rock wall, and then hit the water 150 feet below.
The man never surfaced, and friends dove in to rescue him, but they didn't find him.
About 7:30pm CT last night, divers found his body near the spot the man dove in.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office confirms the victim's name as Rayford Downey of Mt. Olive.
