BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Liberty National Life Insurance has
moved its corporate headquarters from Birmingham to Hoover.
The insurance company has transferred workers to other
metro-area offices over the past several years, and this week moved
the rest of its 225 employees.
Robert Simon of Corporate Realty Associates says the downtown
building was too large and outdated for the number of employees the
company had working there.
Simon says a potential buyer does have the building under
contract.
Liberty National was a downtown staple for eight decades.
