In this the third week of the legislative session, democrats believe they have a plan to put more money into the troubled fund. The bill that seems to have the most support is one proposed in the senate. It recommends using money to pay down construction debt to shore up PACT. It would take existing funds and divert them to PACT beginning in 2014.
This new plan, if it survives the committee and gets to the floor of the Alabama legislature could generate more than 200 million dollars to save PACT.
