PARRISH, Ala. --- A mid-morning house fire claimed the life of an elderly man in Parrish Monday.
Relatives have identified the victim as 85 year old William Gunn.
Firefighters responded to the blaze on Legion Street in Parrish around 10:30 a.m.
Gunn's 82 year old wife survived the fire with serious burns.
Walker County's Coroner told NBC13HD it appeared as if Gunn's wife was cooking when a grease fire.
The state fire marshal's office is investigating the exact cause of the blaze.
