FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - Schoolchildren and some workers in
northwest Alabama are getting a day off because of the threat of
winter weather. Administrators shut down classes today in
Lauderdale and Colbert counties because of the possibility that
snow and sleet could make travel dangerous. The National Weather
Service issued a winter storm warning.
