Birmingham, Ala.-- A Gardendale woman's passion for stitching and pride for Alabama is helping a Birmingham City group raise funds for humanitarian efforts in West Africa.

The Birmingham Sister Cities - Ghana committee are selling hand-made blankets that highlight's the The University Of Alabama’s championship season. Funds raised for the non-profit group will go toward helping to build latrines in Winneba, a small town in Ghana, and buy books for a library and also help send a group of Birmingham City students to Ghana on an exchange trip.
