WASHINGTON — President Obama's signature foreclosure rescue plan is losing its punch.
According to a federal report released Friday, fewer people are using the Obama administration's program that was designed to help keep people out of foreclosure.
Nearly half of the homeowners who sought help have now fallen out.
The treasury department report says people who had tried to get their mortgages modified through the home affordable modification program, known as "hamp," have been cut loose.
Rising foreclosures could weaken the already ailing housing market.
