»  Comments | Post a Comment

Staff and volunteers throughout the Mid Alabama Region of the American Red Cross are responding to numerous scattered reports of flooding.

In areas as far west as Moundville to Leeds Red Cross workers have been assisting residents affected by flash flooding.

Red Cross Officials are working closely with Emergency Management Agencies to monitor how many families might be displaced if heavy rains continue to result in rising water around creeks, rivers and other low lying areas.

Below is a list of areas they are watching closely or locations where residents have been assisted:

Shelby County- EMA reported possible flooding of Green Park and South Gate Mobile Home Parks in Pelham

Bibb County- Brent community experienced flooding, approximately 11 people were provided shelter by the Red Cross and more residents could be affected

Moundville- Red Cross Disaster Action Teams in the area assisting residents, mobile sheltering supply trailers on stand-by

Jefferson County- Red Cross Disaster Action Team working in Fairfield, Midfield on 6 separate calls and 1 in Leeds
