Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies found a dead man among growing marijuana plants.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Units responded to 1933 Dotson Drive in the Shannon area on the evening of August 27, 2009 after the Patrol Sergeant discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation, during an investigation into an apparent natural death of the resident, 57 year old Robert Dave Hollis.
A search warrant lead to the seizure of approximately 80 marijuana plants from new growth to mid level growth.
An outdoor underground shelter was also used for growing the marijuana.
Deputies believe there is an off-site, outdoor marijuana grow operation affiliated with this operation, where the plants are taken to mature.
Mature marijuana plants can produce up to a $2,500 street value of marijuana per plant giving this seizure a $200,000 street value.
In addition to the marijuana plants, grow lights, digital scales, packaging material and numerous weapons were seized.
Anyone with knowledge of where the outdoor operation may be located is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Tip line at 205-731-2769.
