The number of people without jobs in Alabama has risen again.
The Alabama Department of Industrial Relations reports the state's October 2009 unemployment rate is now at 10.9%.
That's up from September 2009's rate of 10.7%.
The rate represents 226,790 unemployed people.
Sectors with the most job losses were in financial activities, manufacturing, and natural resrouces and mining.
Counties with the lowest unemployment rates were Shelby at 7.4%, Madison at 7.5% and Coffee at 8.3%.
Those counties with the highest are Wilcox at 25.1%, Dallas at 21.9% and Conecuh at 20.5%.
