Space Shuttle Atlantis is on its way to the International Space Station, one of just six shuttle missions left before the program is retired.
Atlantis roared off the ground Monday afternoon, the powerful engines lifting the 18-story spaceship with ease, despite the fact that its carrying almost 30,000 pounds of parts and supplies to the space station.
Those parts will be left at the International Space Station in case they're needed after the shuttle program is retired.
