Ala. city's stimulus job report called erroneous

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (AP) - The director of the Fort Payne Housing
Authority says her agency mistakenly reported that a $540,071 grant
from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development would
create 7,280 jobs.
The Birmingham News reports that authority director Pamela E.
Darwin says the grant to re-roof 154 apartments owned by the
authority has created 14 jobs.
Darwin says someone at the authority meant to type on a federal
survey that the grant would create 7,280 hours of work.
Darwin says federal officials contacted the authority last month
and said the report of 7,280 jobs didn't look right. She says the
authority made the correction at that time.
