VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - Police say several people have been been
shot, one fatally in southern Georgia.
Valdosta police Capt. Bobbi McGraw tells The Valdosta Daily
Times that the shooting happened about 6 p.m. Sunday.
McGraw says four victims have been taken by ambulance to South
Georgia Medical Center.
She says people have been showing up at the hospital's emergency
room claiming they were injured and that up to nine people may have
been hurt. She says police aren't sure how many suspects there are.
She says it may have started after an argument among a large
crowd at a residence.
Valdosta is close to the state line and about 70 miles northeast
of Tallahassee, Fla.
The Associated Press left a message Sunday with a police
spokesman seeking further details.
