DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Students from across the Southeast are
gathering at Duke University to learn about Israel.
The Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast is holding its
annual student conference Sunday on the Duke campus. Issues include
Israel's relationship with the U.S. relationship and cultural
diversity.
Students from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina,
South Carolina and Tennessee are expected.
The private event is a collaborative effort between groups
including Jewish Life at Duke and Duke Friends of Israel.
The Consulates annual conference is part of its mission to help
Americans get past the headlines and learn more about Israel.
The conference runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Duke's Freeman
Center for Jewish Life.
