AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - A visiting scholar at Auburn University
remains hospitalized more than a week after she was hit by a
student as she crossed the street.
A person who answered the phone at Columbus Regional Medical
Center Saturday said 35-year-old Shou Ju Chen was still in critical
condition.
Chen was airlifted to the hospital on November 6th after she was
hit by a Toyota 4-Runner driven by 20-year-old Thomas R. Latham.
The pre-business major was charged with DUI and arrested at the
scene.
Auburn Police Division Captain Tom Stofer told the
Opelika-Auburn News the investigation is ongoing and declined to
comment on the case. He said the department will present its
findings to the district attorney's office when the investigation
is finished.
