Alabama cities plan Veteran's Day parades

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Several Alabama cities are planning
parades and ceremonies to observe Veteran's Day on Nov. 11.
The Alabama Tourism Department says Birmingham will again hold
the nation's oldest Veteran's Day parade. It will travel through
downtown Birmingham, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Parades are also planned in Anniston, Daphne, Huntsville, Mobile
and Tuscumbia. Mobile will also have a free Pops Band concert at
the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.
The Tourism Department says Athens is getting an early start on
the Veteran's Day observances by having a parade Saturday.
