Meth found in chocolate milk jug in Dekalb County

A vehicle pursuit leads to an illegal drug discovery for some Alabama State Troopers.
According to Sheriff Jimmy Harris of the Dekalb County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened May 17, 2009, approximately 6:30 p.m. CT
State Trooper Nick Welden attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations on County Road 155 in Flat Rock.
The vehicle accelerated and a high speed pursuit began.
Trooper Welden was soon joined by another State Trooper, and managed to get the vehicle stopped.
Inside the suspect vehicle they found a 16-ounce jug of chocolate milk containing 131 grams of methamphetamine.
The subject inside the vehicle, identified as Eric Wade Brown, 26, of Dutton, and he was allegedly carrying an additional five grams of meth.
Drug Task Force Agents were contacted and responded to the scene, and Brown was arrested and transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
He was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Reckless Endangerment, Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, and Driving Under the Influence of Controlled Substance.
Brown remains in jail awaiting bond at this time.
He has outstanding warrants from Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Payne Police Department.
