A teenager is in jail, after being arrested in an alleged home invasion.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says the incident began this morning about 4:20 am CT, when a 79 year old woman was awakened in her home in the 400 block of Lakeshore Circle in the Adamsville area.
She returned to bed, and heard more sounds besides her house.
Deputies arrived, and found someone had broken a window and reached in and opened a rear door to enter the house earlier in the night.
Deputies discovered that $19 was missing from the woman's purse.
Tracking dogs were called, and were able to track down the suspect hiding at a friends house about one-half mile away.
The person found was Matthew Craig Edgil, 19, and was taken into custody without incident.
Edgil was questioned by detectives and confessed.
He was arrested and charged with Burglary and Theft of Property.
No one was injured.
