HOMEWOOD, Ala.-- Just one day before Jefferson County Commissioners are expected to vote on cost-cutting resolutions, a host of Homewood business owners are concerned about one resolution that they believe will ecomically dampen their own businesses.
All five Jefferson County Commissioners will take action on phase one of a proposed multi-phase cutback plan aimed at trimming $51.7M dollars from the county’s general fund budget. Commissioners are expected to vote on eight cost-cutting resolutions.
The measures range from reducing county employees work-weeks to four days a week to closing the county’s three satellite courthouses in August.
