Victims in Birmingham apartment fire get help from the Red Cross

Two dozen adults and children are getting help, after an apartment fire in Birmingham.

Two dozen adults and children are getting help, after an apartment fire in Birmingham.
According to a press release from the Birmingham Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, a response team was called to the apartment fire located at 1231 15th Street North in Birmingham about 4:30 am CT Friday, July 3, 2009.
Early information shows 13 units were affected and 12 of those were occupied.
Red Cross workers are assisting approximately 19 adults and five children.
With this being a holiday weekend, many of the families needed shelter and were provided hotel rooms at a local inn.
