LAS VEGAS (AP) - An Alabama police sergeant won't contest his return back home, where he's accused of faking his abduction, stealing evidence money and flying to Las Vegas.

A court official said Thursday that a judge gave authorities 30 days to transfer 48-year-old Faron White back to Decatur, Ala.

White appeared before the judge by video teleconference from the Clark County jail, where he's been held since his arrest Monday in the lobby of an off-Strip hotel.

Authorities at first feared foul play after White failed to return to his wife and children after work late Friday.

Court documents say officials think White stole $70,000 in confiscated drug money, got a ride to the airport from his girlfriend, and flew to Las Vegas to try to win money to pay off gambling and other debts.
