The Helena Police Department has released the names of the people found dead in a house Monday night.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Laurel Woods Lane Monday, November 30, 2009 about 5:15pm CT to check the welfare of a distressed female identified as Martha Wisham, 66.
Upon arriving officers knocked on the door and were told by a female to leave the premises.
Shortly thereafter they heard a gunshot from inside the residence.
Officers forced entry and found Mrs. Wisham with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Upon searching the residence, officers found her husband Ken Wisham, 71, deceased, in an upstairs bedroom. He had been shot twice in the torso.
The motive for the shootings is still under investigation.
