A woman's car tire was flattened near the Charles County, Maryland courthouse Monday.
And now it's possible that a judge is being investigated in connection to the incident.
Jean Washington, a custodian at the courthouse, says she was told that Circuit Court Judge Robert Nalley deflated one of her tires because she was parked in his spot outside the courthouse.
"One of the security guards told me I needed to move my car because Judge Nalley was about to let the air out of my tires," she told a reporter from NBC affiliate WRC.
But by the time Washington got to her car it was too late. She had one flat tire, and a guard who supposedly caught the judge doing it and taped it on his cellphone.
"I was shocked and I couldn't believe it and when I saw that my tire was flat I was almost in tears. And not because the air was out of my tire, it was because of who did it," Washington says.
She was illegally parked in a reserved space assigned to permit holders. She has worked at the courthouse as a custodian for 13 years. Washington says when construction started at the court she started parking in this area because it's close to the door and she leaves work after dark.
Now the alleged vandalism is under investigation.
La Plata, Maryland's police chief acknowledges there's an investigation, but won't name any suspects.
Meanwhile, Washington says she's found somewhere else to park.
