BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The A&E Network show, 'The First 48', is documenting their first Birmingham homicide case following a shooting death in the Inglenook community Thursday night.
Police found a young male shot to death in the alley behind the 4100 Block of 39th Avenue around 8:30 p.m.
A small production crew with video cameras were on the scene.
They were given extra access to the crime scene unavaible to local television media.
The cable network show takes viewers behind the scenes of the first 48 hours of homicide investigations across the country because that is considered the most crucial time period to cracking a case and tracking down a killer.
Mayor Larry Langford and the City Council approved the show coming to Birmingham a few months ago.
The Birmingham cases won't air until November 2009.
