When money is tight - everyone is looking to cut back but still fulfill their dreams. One Bessemer family found that to be true by buying a manufactured home.
Behind these doors is a home - made especially for the Burnett family.
Home Owner, Tracy Burnett said, "The views are beautiful and the sunset here is gorgeous every night."
Tracy and her family have lived here just ten days. They walked into a showroom - and picked it out. This manufactured house was moved to the Burnett’s property thirty days ago.
Linda Asks, “This same house, if you had built it, what would it have cost you?”
Burnett Answers, “around 700 thousand dollars. Cause it's a little over 6000 square feet."
That is just one of the reasons - sales are so good for Jeff Wood.
General Manager of Clayton Homes, Jeff Wood said, "You control your building costs when you build them in the facility. You don't have theft. You don't have rain that's gong to get into the product."
And while credit may be tight for cars, homes and luxury items - Wood said that's not the case in his business.
Wood said, "And the only thing we're experiencing right now is that people are concerned about the economy and they almost think that we're not loaning money, but we're loaning daily."
After the home was shipped to this land, local contractors finish off details like the garage, the gables and a breezeway. It's home sweet home - a home made especially for the Burnetts.
Burnett said, "This is a very special place for us and we know we don't want to live anywhere else."
Manufactured homes are still part of the mobile home family. Prices start around thirty thousand dollars and go up to about 400-hundred thousand.
