Three volunteer firefighters from the Warrior area are out on bond, after being arrested.
According to information from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, James Williams, 23, of Warrior; Lee Kilgore, 33, of Warrior; and Terrance Jackson, 37, of Morris all face Theft of Property charges.
The case involves a house that was proposed as a burn exercise for the Warrior Fire Department.
The owner of the house never heard back from the Warrior City Council for approval for a burn exercise, and proceeded to find other methods to tear down the house.
In addition to the house itself, there were items in the house, in which the owner wanted to sell.
A potential buyer of several household items in the house discovered most of the items had been removed.
An investigation revealed that Warrior Fire Department personnel may have been involved.
Fire department personnel stated they believed the property was under their control, and the property taken had been abandoned.
Some but not all the property was returned to the owner.
