HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities have charged a man with attempted murder after a shooting at a high-tech company in Huntsville.

Employees at Adtran told police they heard a gunshot on the eighth floor of the company's east tower about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. When police arrived, the shooter had fled.

Huntsville police spokesman Wendell Johnson says an Adtran employee, R.J. Robinson, sustained a minor wound to his shoulder and was treated at the scene.

Police say Maurice Kevin Hill got into an argument with Robinson and pulled out a gun, firing a single shot while Robinson tried to push him out of the office.

Officers tracked the 22-year-old Hill to an apartment and charged him with attempted murder. Robinson told police that Hill is his cousin.

Johnson says Hill is not employed by Adtran.
